Gaara was sitting in a tree near the football field reading when he heard a familiar voice, "Hey, Gaara. Why you up there?" He looked down and saw his best friend, Naruto.
"Hey Naruto." He put his book away before Naruto could get up there. "Hey Gaara can I ask you a question?" he asked. "Sure." "…um Gaara are you Asexual?" he asked, kind of awkward about this subject.
Gaara raised a nonexistent eyebrow at him and ask, "What brought this up?" "Well I-I mean we were talking and-" "wait 'we'?" "yes me and Sasuke were talking and we were thinking of what couples would be cute and- well we wondered what your preference is and-" "OK hold on Naruto. Calm down I'm not mad. I understand." "You do?"
"Well ya. I don't 'prefer' anyone but that doesn't mean I'm not interested. You should know what I'm looking for." he said looking straight into Naruto's eyes. "Oh. Yeah I know." he said. 'Love' they both thought.
They sat there a moment before Naruto asked, "So what was that you had in your hand before I jumped up here?" "…Nothing." he said and a slight blush formed on his face. "Your blushing. It must be something embarrassing." he said with an evil grin.
He reached over and was about to tickle Gaara when all his hands met was sand. Gaara appeared at the top of the tree and had a smirk on his face. "HEY, cheater." Naruto shouted with a grin on his face.
He started to shake the tree and Gaara stumbled. He fell of the top of the tree and expected his back to meet the ground but instead felt arms catch him. He looked up and saw that Lee, the best person at any sports game, had caught him.
"Uh Th-thanks." he muttered. "No problem Gaara but be more careful." he said in his cheery usual self. He set Gaara down on the bleachers and said, "this is a safer spot. Please be careful." "I'm always careful its just that Naruto is always careless." he muttered under his breath.
"Yeah. Hey I'll see you later. Meet me here after practice." and with that he turned off and back to the football game. Naruto walked over and smiled. "…Sooooo what were you reading?" he asked.
